Patrick Wilks L.B.I.D.S.T, L.C.G.I, R.D.T - over 30 years of experience

I am the founder of St Albans Dental Laboratory and trained at Weybridge Dental College. I passed my intermediate City & Guilds with distinction, and was awarded a C&G bronze medal, the first winner for 5 years. I also passed my final C&G with distinction, and was awarded the silver medal, the first winner for 15 years. As well as this I passed my advanced C&G. I was twice the winner of the Aspen award just prior to starting my own laboratory in 1986, after being responsible for two other labs for many years. I was on the Dental Advisory Board for Weybridge College for 3 years prior to its closure and I am now on the Advisory Board of the Dental Technician Magazine together with the Dental Laboratories opinion panel. I am also a member of the British Institute of Dental and Surgical Technologists and recently obtained my Licentiate of the City and Guild Institute.

Roy Sockett RDT- over 20 years of experience

I started my training in 1983 at the D&M Dental Laboratory where I learned all aspects of dental technology. The lab then became M.C. Thornhill Ceramics where I worked for the next twenty years as a gold technician. In 2004 when the owner retired, I took over the business and ran it for the next four years. In 2008 I decided to sell the business to Patrick Wilks, the owner of St Albans Dental Laboratory. I now work for Patrick as a gold technician also constructing composite restorations.

Keith Couch RDT- over 39 years of experience

I began my apprenticeship in 1971 with Regent Dental Lab in Hemel Hempstead, covering all aspects of dentistry, including model making. My skills developed rapidly into chrome work, dentures, gold work and ceramics. After five years of training I finally settled on specialising in ceramics (crown and bridge work). In 1976 I started work with Mike Sherring-Lucas, firstly at his lab in St Albans, then Hemel Hempstead. I spent ten years with him whilst I completed a number of ceramic courses and qualifications as techniques changed. I joined Patrick at St Albans Dental Laboratory in 1986 as a crown and bridge work specialist.

Linda Brandham RDT - over 30 years of experience

My extensive training began at the Sherring-Lucas Lab in St Albans having achieved final examination accreditation with City & Guilds. To date I am a registered technician with extensive experience developed across a 30 year career as a dental technician.
